Introduction:


Brookline Access Television has strong roots in its community with regular TV watchers who want to be involved with local media. The access center, which was founded in 1984, has had a special place as a cornerstone for Brookline news. The televised program A Time to Review brings the focus of independent films to the residents of Brookline with interviews including: Ty Burr, Larry Stark, Peter Keough, Hiram Scott, and famed author Howard Zinn. The interviews are setup as being in any living room having a conversation about the latest independent film releases.

Overview:

Daniel began his journey as an entertainment journalist for the self-published magazine called The Voicemakers. Then for the next seven years covering the world of the nostalgic media with insightful articles about rarely discussed movie topics (1997-2004). Berman's accomplishments include being named Boston Herald scholastic competition honorable mention winner (1994) as well as being recognized for the Boston Herald's eighth annual scholastic competition winner for outstanding achievement in the "Writing To Win" contest (1995). Photos and credentials support his involvement with the Boston Herald's education program. Berman has also received recognition as a peer leader in reference to his endless contributions of article writing for school newsletters (1995). He also has been influential to Brookline Television’s televised line-up of on-air programming. Berman participates in a number of film discussion roundtable groups discussing independent films.

Experience In Television:

He is a Brookline (MA.) Access Television executive producer, senior member of the board of directors committee, and been involved in many other facets of television. Currently, Berman host/produce a program called "Time To Review" since (1999). Recently began a second in-studio show called “Saturday Night at the Movies”. Beginning this year it will represent Berman’s ninth consecutive year at access television as a veteran producer. Daniel has been involved with other programs including: Voices of Brookline, Undiscovered Heroes, Sports Time, and Culture Club.

Writing Background:


Daniel Berman is an up and coming writer for many notable web venues he contributes film reviews to such websites. He is a proud member of the Internet Entertainment Writer’s Association, and contributes entertainment related articles to The World Journal (Movie Reviews) featured section. Contributing writer to numerous magazines and newspapers featuring various articles on independent cinema Our Town Brookline (The Movie Maverick). Currently, Community Magazines reaching an estimated 90,000 readers and eight cities in Massachusetts’s alone covering the latest (Independent Films). Now it has expanded into three monthly publications including: Newton, Brookline, and Metro West Magazines.

Independent Filmmaker:

In 2006, he just completed production of his first short dialogue film entitled A People’s History: A Conversation with Howard Zinn. Which made its big screen debut at the Open Screen monthly event.
